The saltwater lagoon of Fuente de Piedra, located in the North of the province of Málaga is undoubtedly the most important area for the reproduction of the common Flamingo (Phoenicopteus ruber roseus) in the Iberian Peninsula, constituting also a place of exceptional importance for the nesting and reproduction of other birds, this circumstance has made that it may be considered one of the most important wetlands of Andalucia.
